GEF Events

Dear GEF Members and Friends,

The purpose of this message is first, to invite you to our next event as well as inform you about a very interesting initiative that the Greek Energy Forum (GEF) is about to undertake and whose success relies on the willingness of those of you that’d wish to contribute with their individual experience and expertise.

First of all, we would like to invite you to an inaugural meeting for our GEF focus groups, which will take place on the 25th of October, at 19:00-21:00 at the premises of Cass Business School (106 Bunhill Row, London EC1Y 8TZ, United Kingdom). The purpose of the meeting is to connect with the appointed Heads and Vice Heads of all the focus groups, who will present a framework for the prospective discussions within each thematic cluster. Furthermore, the Organising Committee should also provide everybody with a detailed update on our organisational progress, based on the milestone actions that had been presented to you during our last assembly. Once again, we would like to thank Mr. Michael Tamvakis, who has very kindly been accommodating GEF’s needs for a meeting venue.

Please send an email to info@greekenergyforum.com to inform us if you wish to attend the event so we can register your information and have a nametag available at the reception.

The context and outcomes of this event will be of great importance to GEF, as they should support the prospective initiative that we are planning to undertake and which we’d like to let you more about. After the successful completion of the recent conference on "Energy Developments in South East Mediterranean”, which GEF officially supported, the Greek Minister of Energy, Mr. Yiannis Maniatis, has agreed to travel to London in order to attend and chair an exclusive brainstorming workshop with GEF members on potential energy reforms in Greece. The objective of this meeting is to facilitate a discussion between the Minister and GEF members on a defined energy agenda that our members will have put together in advance and eventually agree on collaborating with Mr.Maniatis on exploring some of those topics going forward.

The venue will be ESCP Europe Business School premises in London. The date of the event will be confirmed in the near future and should be indicatively set around early December. Please allow me to thank Dr. Kostas Andriosopoulos, the Executive Director of the Research Centre for Energy Management at ESCP Europe Business School, for his kind initiative to host this event at the premises of ESCP.

Structuring an agenda for this meeting is a first-class opportunity for initiating the operations of the focus groups that have already been announced online and which you can also read at the attached GEF newsletter (1st GEF Newsletter).
