Affiliate Events

As presented in the study for the Energy Planning of the Prefecture of Crete, the region is facing a number of challenges in achieving a low carbon economy by 2050. Issues such as the reduction of the energy sector CO2 emissions, the reduction of oil dependency, the electrical Interconnection of Crete (interconnection with Mainland, Euro Asia Interconnector), the increased penetration of Renewable Energy Sources to the energy mix, the reliable and sufficient supply of energy and energy services to customers, the energy prices and the development of an "Energy Innovation Programme” aiming at supporting new techniques and products for the production, transmission, management and final use of energy are now becoming urgent.

This event will be investigating the challenges and opportunities of Crete in achieving those targets.
