GEF Nicosia Branch Takes Action

Delivering insights on the future of the Oil & Gas Markets in the East Med, Shipping and Oil Commodity Trends

The Greek Energy Forum (GEF) is excited to announce the launch of activities in its Nicosia Branch in Cyprus that demonstrate the continuity of Forum’s active engagement in the key regional energy debates and GEF’s commitment to knowledge sharing and promoting dialogue between the relevant stakeholders in the sector.

In the coming week three GEF representatives will be delivering presentations at two International Energy Conferences taking place in Nicosia, sharing their insights into the regional oil and gas market dynamics and global energy trends, exploration and production activities in the East Med, as well as the developments in the shipping sector.

  • Andreas Koutsoulides and John Stamoudakis, Representatives of the GEF Nicosia Branch, will deliver presentations at the 13th IMES Forum in Cyprus "Shipping, Oil & Petroleum Markets. Geopolitics, Economics and Investment” taking place on 27 November, organised in the framework of the International Money Show.


This annual forum is organised by the Institute of Maritime & Economic Studies, in cooperation with the Maritime Economies and co-hosted by the GEF. 

This event gathers distinguished experts from the Shipping, Energy and Investment sector, who will share intelligence regarding the future trends in the oil markets, the impact of geopolitics and demand & supply fundamentals on the oil commodity markets, as well as the geopolitics and geo-economics of oil & gas in the shipping sector.

  • Daria Nochevnik, Representative of GEF Brussels Branch will present at the 4th International Public Conference Series on "Energy in the Eastern Mediterranean” on 21 November, on the topic "East-Med’s potential contribution to EU’s energy needs with emphasis on SE Europe”.


The event is organised by the PRIO Cyprus Centre, in collaboration with the Atlantic Council, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Cyprus, Istituto Affari Internazionali and Strata Insight.

Featuring speakers who are prominent experts on the energy sector and the region, the conference will provide a platform for discussion to assess the outlook for the Eastern Mediterranean’s fledgling offshore hydrocarbons industry. Thus, it will look at the local & global realities and trends in regional oil & gas demand and supply dynamics, security of supply, commodity price trends, new technologies, as well as the geopolitical factors and risks.
