UKTI Webinar on Oil & Gas Opportunities in Greece

Wed, Oct 8, 2014 12:00 – 12:45 PM CEST

Greece is an oil producer, though its current production capacity is small. In late 2011 Greece re-launched gas and oil exploration and awarded oil exploration rights in three regions in W. Greece. Following seismic surveys, tenders for 30 blocks are expected to be announced by Q4 2014. Another project worth highlighting is the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, a 500km long gas pipeline, budgeted at 1.5 billion euro which will provide Europe with gas from the Shah Deniz fields in the Caspian sea. This webinar has been designed to assist UK companies considering entering the Greek energy market by:

  • raising awareness of the opportunities in the Greek market;
  • providing information on the policy landscape;
  • providing a platform for UK companies to put questions directly to UKTI staff & market participants.

This webinar will provide an overview of the commercial opportunities for UK companies in the Greek oil & gas market. Participants will get to hear about planned developments on policy from governments’ perspective. An industry member will also present a developer’s perspective and the drivers and barriers regarding exploration in Greece.
