US Shale Gas Exports: The Developments For LNG/LPG Shipping

The Greek Energy Forum is very pleased to announce this shipping focused event on LNG/LPG exports from the US. The shale gas revolution shows no signs of receding, even in the face of low oil and gas prices, and that is impacting the shipping industry. The discussion will evolve around the latest developments from different perspectives, commercial and technical. Our guest speakers are James Allan, Head of Gas Chartering at brokers Galbraith’s with significant work experience in LNG/LPG shipping markets, and Nikos Gounaris, Gas Marine Engineer with both sea and shore experience with LNG/LPG vessels. This event is organised by the Greek Energy Forum and supported by Cass Business School.

Our Speakers

James Allan has worked as a shipping broker for over 8 years in the tanker, LNG, and LPG markets. He is currently the Head of Gas Chartering at Galbraith’s, overseeing chartering and Sales and Purchase activities across regions and segments.

Nikos Gounaris has worked as a Marine Engineer (CEng) in Gas Fleet Operations with both sea and shore experience with LNG vessels. He is currently working in BP’s Gas Fleet Management Team and recently earned his Chartered Engineer status. He has ample seagoing experience as a Merchant Navy Engineer Officer aboard several types and sizes of merchant vessels such as LNG Carrier (DFDE), Product Carriers, Chemical Tankers, Panamax, Aframax, Suezmax.

Kyriakos Mezopoulos has more than 7 years of experience in the oil industry. He is currently a Charterer for BP (LNG/LPG), managing the BP owned fleet and timecharters. In the past he has worked in trading and operations roles for BP in  London and Paris.
